Fondazione Venice City Solutions is a private, non-profit participatory foundation.

The Foundation brings together territorial institutions, associations and representatives of the third sector, research and education, civil society and the private sector at local, national and international level, that work together to build a European Union based on the values of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights.

It exclusively pursues social solidarity goals, and intends to operate in the fields of education, promotion of culture and art, protection and enhancement of nature and the environment, and scientific research. Specifically:

1) it collaborates with local, national and international institutions to organize international events and activities;

2) promotes, participates in and coordinates local, national and international projects;

3) provides services in the field of European project planning, international training and community programming;

4) develops study and research activities;

5) offers consulting services at the local and international level;

6) undertakes and promotes initiatives:

(a) for the development of European culture;

(b) for peace, cooperation, solidarity and fraternity among peoples, also with a view to harmonious relations among nations, ethnic groups and religions;

(c) for the achievement of equal dignity and equal opportunities among people, with particular reference to gender equality;

(d) for the pursuit of economic, social and territorial cohesion in the European Union and globally;

(e) for decentralized development cooperation;

(f) to promote the UN 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals;

(g) to promote sustainable urban and territorial development – environmentally, socially, and economically – at local and international level, including through participatory initiatives and urban and social regeneration projects;

h) to reduce the digital divide through the inclusive and responsible adoption of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, with a focus on gender equality;

(i) for environmental sustainability, ecological transition and actions to fight and mitigate the effects of climate change;

(l) to enhance natural and cultural heritage, including through initiatives to promote sustainable and informed tourism;

(m) to promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

To achieve its goals the Foundation may, inter alia:

a) enter into any appropriate deed or contract, including for the financing of the approved operations, including, but not limited to, the undertaking of investments, financing and loans, short or long term; the rental, the concession or loan for use or the purchase, in ownership or under surface rights, of real estate; the stipulation of agreements of any kind, even those transcribed in public registers, with public or private bodies, which are considered appropriate and useful for achieving the Foundation’s goals;

b) administer and manage the assets of which it is the owner, lessor, borrower, or otherwise possessed;

c) stipulate agreements and contracts for the outsourcing of part of the activities, as well as specific studies and consultancy;

d) participate in associations, bodies and institutions, both public and private, whose activity is aimed, directly or indirectly, at pursuing objectives similar to those of the Foundation itself; the Foundation may, where it deems it appropriate, also contribute to the establishment of the aforementioned bodies;

e) promote and organize events, conferences, meetings, proceeding with the publication of the related proceedings or documents, and all those initiatives and events suitable for encouraging organic contact between the Foundation, the operators of the Foundation’s activity sectors, and the public;

f) awarding prizes and scholarships;

g) conduct training activities, courses and seminars relating, directly or indirectly, to the Foundation’s areas of interest;

h) carry out, on an ancillary or instrumental basis to the pursuit of institutional objectives, marketing activities, including with reference to the publishing and audiovisual sectors in general, and to distribution via the world wide web;

i) engage in any other activity suitable or supportive of the pursuit of its institutional purposes.
